Built for the karst province, not the generic China loop
Skip the "Top 10 attractions in Guiyang" listicles. Every tool here answers a specific Guizhou question — Huangguoshu water level by month, Miao vs Dong village fit, sour-soup grade, fold-or-fold driver red flags, village football calendar, fold-ear-root tolerance.
Generic Guizhou guides recycle the same five attractions. Travellers who actually go come back with stranger, more practical questions — about fold-ear-root, about getting sick on mountain roads, about whether a "Miao village" is the real one or a theme park. This toolkit answers those questions.
Huangguoshu water volume depends on the rainy season, not the calendar. Fold-ear-root (折耳根) is either your friend or your worst enemy. Mountain roads in Qiandongnan have no guardrails in places. These details don't survive in generic copy.
Most tools take 3–6 inputs and produce a tiered result with caveats. The Huangguoshu tool, for instance, reads your travel month, your group's hiking ability, and whether you plan to enter the Water-Curtain Cave — three independent variables that change the recommendation.
Miao and Dong villages have taboos (don't point at the roof horns, don't step on the threshold). We don't pretend to know them all — we link to village-specific guidance and flag where you need a local host.
Each calculator encodes a specific Guizhou question with hardcoded 2025–2026 reference data (festival dates, mountain-peak elevations, ticket bands, transport costs). Sources are listed on each tool page. Some figures are regional averages; we say so on the page.
